HI, I'm down here in SoFla, Cooper City to be exact. Southwest of Fort Lauderdale, north of Miami.] After the Sem, I studied Nursing in NYC. That was among the best things I have ever done for myself.
Married 6 months after graduating from Nursing, moved to Arlington,VA. and 11 months after that became a mom. 15 months later, daughter #2. Moved back to Scranton while my husband was in graduate school at Marywood, helped introduce lamaze-type childbirthing to Scranton, did league of women voters, common cause and a bunch of other stuff and did a stint back in NYC from '73 to '76. Love that city!
Came down to FL in 1978 after divorcing my first husband. Did manage to fall in love again and remarried in 1984. Worked as an advocate for disability benefits for indigent first at the teaching hospital in Miami, and then partnered up in a business for 13 years doing the same thing. icial 19 years,
I live alone, having lost my dear beloved in 2003.
I have a loving doggy companion, a chihuahua mix whose about 9 pounds, just the right size for traveling along.
My two daughters, one in PA, and one here in Coral Gables FL., about 30 miles from where I live in my little piece of paradise.
Because my only grandson in back in PA, I had considered re-locating to the NE after my husband's death, but I chickened out and have to be content with visits which I hope to be more frequent.
The last 're-union' I knew about and attended was in '97. I think there was at least one since then that I missed. PLEASE let me know if there is anything planned!
I am retired. The world of nursing and health care just became too toxic and hostile an environment for me. A favorite saying of my husband: I have done my best. Let they who can, do better.
I have friends in many graduating years from Marywood, since I also was there during the years there was a 'grade school' and still remember those classmates fondly.
Found out how to get myself on the map so now you can see where I am.
Hope to hear from many many of you!.
