Diana's Story
Since High School I did a little travelling, worked on a farm in Manitoba (that was a different experience, milked cows, drove tractors, operated machinery, and yelled at cattle), had a rocky relationship which ended (greatest gift is my daughter - she keeps me grounded), continued education courses, worked for the same company for 25 years and now I am trying to decide what to do next.
I started work for Office Automation as a temp way back in the 70's (oh boy that's long ago isn't it) had many experiences some placements were fun and others were not so much. After doing temp work for couple of years I applied at BC Hydro and worked for twenty five years, started in the temp pool, applied on a full time job bulletin as a Steno Clerk and worked my way up to Administrative Support Assistant in the sunny...Expand for more
Okanagan.
Moved to the sunny Okanagan about twenty two years ago purchased a townhouse and watched the area grow and grow it has. Now, I share a house with my daughter and look out every morning on the valley it is gorgeous see the blue sky and surroundings.
And with life there are changes and challenges I was diagnosed with chronic myelogenous (say that word twenty times) leukemia in 2010 and I am very happy to say now I am in REMISSION (I will have to continue taking chemo pills for a long time (I'd rather be on this side of the dirt then the other side ha ha).
Since my last day of working was September 2012 I have been smelling the roses, peace and quiet of being a "recycled teenager" so someone told me I was (instead of retiree). I appreciate each day as it comes deeply, fully and joyfully.
