After graduating I spent a few years working for the state of California in the Unemployment office in Riverside, then the Disability office in San Bernardino and Long Beach. Next I had the opportunity to do one thing I had always wanted and that was to sing and travel with a group. It was a gospel group and we traveled the US. I had a great time and do not regret a minute of the six years. I had to give it up due to illness and find a "real" job to pay the bills. I went to work for an ambulance company in the Los Angeles area for 16 years and finally reached the burn out point. I was told no one ever stayed in that field as long as I had. I spent the next two years working at Long Beach City College for the head of the PE Department. Some where in there I was married for 13 years, big mistake, and have been divorced for 17 years, right choice. I moved back to the Inland Empire in 1990 and worked for San Bernardino County Schools in the Court School System for 8 years dealing with gang members and drug users, talk about a challenge. I got quite an education during that time. After leaving the County I spent two years working for a local career college then for a temp agency for awhile. I gave up working in 2005 when my father got ill and helped my mother take care of him. In 2006 my mother became ill and I took care of her for 9 months until she passed away. Now I am living with my father taking care of him again. In June of 2007, after a year of remdeling, we moved back into the house my parents built in 1947 when then got married. I guess you could say that I have come full circle being back in the house that I was born in, and they say you can never go home. What free time I do have is spent on arts and crafts, and some computer time thrown in. I make all my own cards and from time to time I even teach art to kids.
