Diana's Story
Life
Since graduating high school I married my high school sweetheart. We attended school and graduated from EKU and starting teaching in Kentucky from 1976 to 1986. While in college we started a family. We have two boys and two girls all which have moved on with their lives and we are proud of them. In 1986 my family moved to Nairobi Kenya. My husband was high school principal and I taught grade 2 for 8 years at the International School of Kenya. This school was owned and operated by the American Embassy and the Canadian High Commission. It provided schooling to families from over 60 countries. We were in Kenya from 1986-1996. CARDA and I was a Resource Teacher for grades 1-6. ICARDA was a school in Northern Syria (close to the Turkish border). This school catered to scientists children whose parents were working and living in that part of the world. After several years in Syria we decided to retire and return home to be with our family. Now we are spending more time traveling and spending more time with our family. We have 5 grandchildren. We have enjoyed our time overseas but our family is the most rewarding. We hope to keep in touch with friends we have met while teaching, plus reconnect with old friends and meet new friends here at home. Right now I am enjoying retirement. I keep in daily contact with our children and grandchildren.
