Diana's Story
I always wanted to be a mother and wife when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a bad idea. I was to young. As it turns out, they were wrong. I love my family very much and am still raising children. I raised 3 children (two boys and a girl) raised my granddaughter and am now raising two great grandsons. They keep me young...have to be to keep up with them. My husband and I have been married for over forty years and are enjoying out retirement. He was an Operating Engineer for fifty years and I worked for Wells Fargo bank for 20 years. I also managed to work for three other banks before ending up at Wells Fargo. We enjoy going out to dinner and going to the movies with Jack's sister, Pauline, and her husband Albert. All in all we are doing pretty good for our age.
Since I wrote this a few things have happened to us...not good things....Expand for more
Our son-in-law died from diabetes, our daughter-in-law died from a freak car accident which sent my poor son (middle son) into a downward spiral. He was already in bad health but it has been a year and a half and he is doing better now. I praise the Lord for that. After that I had to have emergency spinal surgery on my back or I would have been paralyzed. It has been almost a year and I am not any better. I spend most of my time in bed. Not able to do much for myself. I have a wonderful husband who cares for me and our family. While I was in the hospital (2 months) my oldest child (a son) died from colon cancer. That was the worst pain I ever felt. I know I will survive this because I still have my great grandsons but if I didn't have them, I really wouldn't care to go on. I hope you all are having better times. My love and prayers go out to you all.
