Updated 1/29/09 Hi all! We live in SW Florida - Cape Coral, FL which is near Fort Myers and will move to Bonita Springs, FL in June. We have lived in Florida for over 20 years and love it. We currently live in this neat 3 bedroom, 3 bath, 4th floor penthouse condo facing the River. It has all the bells and whistles including a pool and spa and in June we will move to our new home being built in Bonita Springs, FL (near Naples)
I'm married to Cliff Stephens now for 21 years and together we have a blended family of 5 adult children (Randy, Holly, Brian, Jenni, Scott) and 6 grandchildren - with 2 more on the way. We are empty nesters now. Cliff and I have lived in various cities like Kennesaw,GA, Smyrna, GA, Charlotte, NC; Amelia Island,FL; Neptune Beach,FL; Jax Beach,FL; Cape Coral, FL and Palm Coast,FL.
Cliff is a retired IT manager with IBM and I retired from IBM after 24 years in March of 08. I've held many positions in IBM - most recently my positions are Project Manager,PMP related. After I retired, I went back to work the very next day as a contractor for IBM so I can draw my retirement and continue to work for them. I still work from home as I have been doing for the last 15 years. Its nice, no traffic, don't have to buy special business clothes and don't have to brave any weather problems. I am a graduate of Kennesaw College in Georgia.
Now that we are back in Florida, Southwest Florida is our favorite area in Florida to live -- not much crime, tropical weather all year long and right near the ocean. Its like being on vacation all the time. Its Florida's little well kept secret, although Cape Coral has over 175,000 residents and over 500 miles of canals.
I try to visit family as often as I can, none of them live close by, go to the beach, boating,make short pleasure trips like to Key West, go out to a dinner and a movie, go to plays and performances at the Philharmonic, do crafts and just chill out. Best vacations we have ever went on were in Jamaica at one of those all inclusive resorts - Grand Lido Braco. Those of you who remember me know that my best friend in high school was Anita Seruntine. We still are best friends! We try to keep in close touch and she comes up to visit us whenever she can and I see her when I go back home.
We have 1 pet, Lukka who is a Siberian kitty. We had to put down our other 2 pets in the past year -both about 14 years old (1 with cancer and 1 with diabetes). Its not easy to do that.
