Diane's Story

Life Upon graduation, i attended nursing school at Sewickley Hospital and graduated in 1985. I accepted a position at Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh and worked there for 10 years. The last several years I was in management and was the Coordinator for the Department of Surgery. That entailed working for 3 surgical oncologists as their office nurse and coordinating treatment for specific protocols relating to colon, breast, and upper GI malignanc...Expand for more
ies. I met and married Les Vescio from Sewickley in 1991. We have 2 beautiful sons, and live in Harmony Township a few streets behind Highland Elementary School. i left Montefiore a month before my first son was born and almost immediately had my second son. I went back to work for a few years as a Nursing Supervisor at a Squirrel Hill long-term care facility, but my heart never left surgical oncology. I am currently employed as a hospice nurse..
