Diane's Story

Life Hi all classmates from the graduation class of 1973. I was the girl that was voted the most wittiest our senior year and the one that most people remember as the one with the loud laugh. Although, my laugh has quieted down some, I still love laughing and having fun. I do not work at what you would call a paying job, but I do love babysitting my two adorable grandsons. Yes, I am a Nana now. I am sure some of you are too.I have two children, Shanna now 30 and Craig (he took my maiden name) now 22. Shanna will be working on her doctorate, with her masters in social work and her undergrade in neuroscience and psychology. She and her husband, Scott, gave me my two grandsons, Jaken (5) and Wills (3). Craig is now attending NC State, majoring in biology for premed, he started out in engineering. As for me, I went to college a few years and then quit to get married. I do regret not finishing. In 1986, I was working for a mortgage and loan company, on my way to having my own branch, when I was in an automobile wreck and broke my back. Although, I have my limitations, I do thank God that I am walking, still trying to dance ocassionally, but still always enjoying life. I have not been able to be employed since my accident, but feel I have had a very fulfilled life even without a career. My career was my family. My address is now in Thomasville, NC, . It is closer to Craig at State, also. I would love to hear from you. I have attended all of our class reunions and missed most of you. You should come. You would be surprised at the way we all look now, actually we all are better looking now. So come to our next reunion and look me up. I will be there. Love from your classmate of 1973, Diane Craig (Knox) Having children has taught me that communication is...Expand for more
such a key element in any relationshiop, whether it is with family or friends. Also, my children and grandchildren have helped me to stay young at heart, I don't think I have grown up Yet. I love to have fun and laugh. On the beach with a nice breeze and a good book or good friend to talk to. My obsession is.... I better not tell just to anyone. Having children and grandchildren has taught me to always have the line of communication open both ways. We adults may be surprised what our children can teach us and what they really want to learn from us. Also, I have learned to stay young at heart and love and laugh.Actually, I have always loved and laughed. I think one of my most memorable times was living in a dorm. I can remember crying so hard when the end of the year came and knowing that some of my friends would possibly never be seen again, because we all go our different paths. My current age is 54. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be preparing for their retirement. I was so completely misinformed In 10 years, I hope to be able to run and play tennis. I'm going to get there by slowly building up my endurance and stamina, since I have had 8 surgeries from a broken back, I have to take things sort of easy.. My oldest friend and still we are friends is Karen Thorn Hill. We met at the age of 15, when I was introduced to her and her family by a mutual friend, I fail over her sofa that same day, and if you know anything about me, you will recall in high school I was accident prone. We are still best friends. My first job was at Hardee's, where I got paid 1.25 to cook and cashier. What I remember most about it is I was 15 and I worked with Roger Robinson, who graduated with me and won the senior award "wittiest" with me..
