Diane's Story
AFTER GRADUATING from Del Oro High School in 1967, i finished my senior year there,my first three years were at Colfax, I RECEIVED MY NURSING DEGREE FROM SCC IN 1969, AND ALSO GOT MARRIED THAT YEAR WHICH ENDED IN DIVORCE AFTER TWO BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN. I WAS AN ACTIVE REGISTERED NURSE FOR 27 YRS IN SACRAMENTO AND OREGON. I AM NOW HAPPILY MARRIED AGAIN TO THE LOVE OF MY LIFE AND LIVE IN RESCUE, CA. WE ARE BOTH RETIRED AND LOVING IT. I always wanted to be a R.N. when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a COOL idea. As it turns out, they were RIGHT!.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is PATTY MARTIN, because WE WERE THE BEST OF FRIENDS!.
My first job was at SUTTER MEMORIAL HOSPITAL, where I got paid $2.10 PER HR. to BE AN R.N.. What I remember most about it is OLDER NURSES HAD TO CO-SIGN MY NARCOTIC SIGN OUTS CAUSE I WAS UNDER 21!!!.
