Diane's Story

LIFE We moved to Oregon in 2000, and lived in a home in Portland until we finished designing and building our Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired dream home in Oregon City. Living and working in Oregon is wonderful! My bath+kitchen design business is recovering from the recession. Don't you hate it when media refers to it as the "Great Recession"? There was NOTHING "great" about it! The stress eventually led to a battle with cancer, but I'm in full recovery -- thank goodness. Grateful that after five years, there's light at the end of the tunnel. See more in the "Workplace" description below. I am thankful that Jay has fallen in love with the Oregon weather and changing seasons, and grateful that he's able to telecommute to work. He doesn't miss the Bay Area traffic at all (and neither do I)!! We have many reasons to be thankful for all of life's blessings, especially at this age. Wishing everyone who reads this good health, happiness, and success. WORKPLACE I love being a bath and kitchen designer, and love helping people get more pleasure from their remo...Expand for more
deled homes! My motto is "See the Possibilities. Create a Positive Difference". I'm grateful to be working with delightful Homeowners on various projects, including an update of a 1900 farmhouse in Molalla, a kitchen addition in SW Portland, a partial kitchen remodel in SE Portland, with other projects just completed and upcoming. For over three years, we produced an internet radio program, "Today's Home". Although we're taking hiatus from the program, the website is still active, and you can listen to podcasts of all the programs. Mannheim Steamroller (American Gramophone) has given us a license to use "Wolfgang Amadeus Penguin" as our theme song -- how exciting! My first book, "THE Survival Guide: Home Remodeling" is the culmination of five years of teaching seminars and compiling information to help homeowners survive one of life's most challenging experiences. It received the Pinnacle Award for best how-to book in 2003, and is sold at Amazon. Are you planning to attend the reunion? I'm on Facebook, Twitter, Houzz, and YouTube. Let's stay in touch!
