Diane's Story
Hello, this is Diane Hall. I recently decided to see what this site was all about. It has taken me a while to get to writing my profile, let alone posting a photo. I will make a long story short, in hopes of having time in the coming weeks to fill things in. Some of you have already sent me messages which I haven¿t replied to yet. thank you so much--please be patient about my replying. This is a very busy time of year for me, as I am a teacher and the new yr. starts tomorrow. (08/19)
My life in brief since leaving FHS--I attended Wayne State and University of Michigan, graduating in ¿72 with a teaching (elementary) credential. In 1977 I tagged along with a friend who was making a cross country trip to California. She only stayed a few weeks out here and then headed home. I decided to stay, and have lived here permanently for all these many years.
I have had many adventures out here--lived in a commune, worked on a women;s construction crew, did a lot of theater of all kinds. Eventually I gravitated...Expand for more
back to a more traditional lifestyle: got married, had a son (now 22), and helped raise a stepdaughter. Got back into education--have taught everything from Special needs adult education to English as a second language, to what I am doing now: elementary multiple subject. I love what I do although I dream of retiring early and starting my own children¿s theater company.
I am single now for 14 years. I live by myself in El Cerrito, just 20 minutes from San Francisco. I have loved it out here. However, missing friends and family back there has been frequently very hard to bear .
I come back about twice a year, stay in Ypsilanti where my older brother has a home. My two younger sibs, Kathy and baby brother Richard are also in the area.
I¿m sorry I have not made it back for any of the reunions. That is due to scheduling conflicts with work, as well as financial hardship. I look forward so much to being able to at least reconnect with some of you through the Classmates site!
