Diane's Story
Went to FSU where I got a BA in communications. Lived in northern California and West Germany with my ex who was in the Air Force. Had a daughter in Santa Rosa, CA and one in Bitburg, Germany. Enjoyed living in Europe and saw as much as I could on a limited budget. Came back to the states (Montgomery, AL) in '78, divorced in '80 and remarried in '89. Had 3rd daughter in 1989. Worked as general manager for Montgomery Ballet, in a variety of sales and marketing jobs, and had my own children's clothing business for 13 years, named after my daughter Heidi.
Have been with the Alabama Society of CPAs for 5 years and am thrilled to be at work everyday. Lots of opportunities to exercise my creativity through the Society's magazine and building new programs.

Enjoyed going to Seacrest 40th reunion last year. Saw folks I had not seen since graduation day in 1967! Sue Bouton did an amazing job of organizing it on fairly short notice - a ton of fun.
My ideal day includes walking, reading, eating seafood, visiting an art gallery or museum with an old friend, going to an estate sale or rescuing a piece of furniture off the curb and repurposing it. I'd finish my day by watching a new indie movie getting great reviews or a favorite B/W film on TV.
While I did not have a vision of what my life would be, and although there have been some bumps along with way, I am a happy person who finds contentment in small things. My love of the arts and creative projects have continued to sustain me and I cannot imagine an existence which did not include visual art, music and dance.
