Diane's Story

The wildest thing I remember doing in high school was skip only ONE class and hung out with friends in the lunch room across the hall from art class. I flt SO guilty because it was so out of character for me. But when it came to senior skip day and admin kept threatening with some kind of action if you participated, I went along with most of the other that skipped; there were about 5 of us that went to Lake Nokomis for the day. BTW no threat from admin were carried through. I've lived in 2 other states--Michigan and (currently)Florida. I was sooooooooo tired of the cold as far back as I remember and finially I said ENOUGH with the cold already!!!!! The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is MaryJo McQuin, because she helped me get through some tough times. I have 4 cats. K.C. (kitty cat), Cat Lassie (or girlie girl), Milo (black and with white goatee) and Eska (looks like an eskamo dog) If I won $100 million, I'd give 1 million of it to charity, then spend the rest on paying off bills , buying a nicer, bigger home and all new furniture and buy a big fancey fitted to the max motor home so I can continue travels to do genealogy without worrying about money. My current age is 55. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be REALLY old. I was so completely oblivious to the concept of not living forver. I'd be interested in knowing what happened to the guy I had at crush on, and even wonder how things would have gone if we had ever gone out with each other. My best friend would tell you I'm dependable, but a little on the daringly edge of things, but people who don't know me very well would ...Expand for more
probably describe me as "she'd do that?????". The weirdest job I ever had was at the Art Instruction School in MPLS (from the 'draw me pics on matchbooks and magizines), looking up zip codes and counties for their sales department when people sent in their drawings. I share my home with husband, which I find dificult sometimes, since we've only been married 5 years and this is my 1st marriage. If given one do-over. what I do differently is go to school to further my education sooner after h.s. graduation than later. But at least I went further, eventually. In 10 years, I hope to be able to devote more time to genealogy. I'm going to get there by just barely. My oldest friend¿how we met and why weclicked. That would be Lauren Wylum from St Paul (before Burnsville). She lived on the NW corner of the street and I lived on the SE corner. Can't remember why we clicked,, but we both met while I was just hanging out on her corner looking for something to do, and she came out of her house to see what I was doing. What about me would surprise everyone at our high school reunion? That I'm more willing to be more daring as I get older. I still find myself in my 50's wanting to going on the baddest roller-coaster at Busch Gardens or still want to be kid and go to Disney World Orlando. My first job was at Walgreens, where I got paid $1.85 to be a cashier. (Cigarettes were $0.49 a pack.) What I remember most about it is that this was the job I had when I moved out of my parents' house to MPLS. I really enjoyed living in the bigger city and being able to get around without having to wal so far, taking the car and exploring on my own.
