Diane's Story
I spent my school years wishing to fit in to the popular girls or be a little part of it. I had no big plans after graduation.
Started working at Cooper Industries right after school. I had lots of fun there, working on the stockroom as the first girl hired.
Part of my job was a daily walk through
the shop to go to the offices
Lots of cat calls and whistles
The core room seemed to be the best with the guys always trying to scare me with fake rats and worms. What a crazy bunch of guys.
In 78, I starting to need change a was looking for something different. I started attending a Christian college, worked some at the plastics,
worked some at Cooper, sold some heat alarms, basically spending
the next years trying to figure out my life and where I fit in, how to succeed in life without really trying.. haha. I finally ended up in Binghamton N...Expand for more
Y at Practical Bible Training School, graduated in 1984, the same year I got married.
I thought I would have one of those "happily ever after life" (you know, no troubles, just an ordinary life with jobs, marriage kids,) but discovered grown up life can be tough. Lost my first child from a severe birth defect in 1987. I've had two more children both have challenges from a brain anomaly called agenesis of the corpus callosom; a girl: Kaitlyn, and a boy, Paul. Paul also has a heart defect and has endured two surgeries so far. Yet through all of this I have had Jesus to lean on. I have learned to live one day at a time, and that life here on earth is not fair; but just a few more weary days and then, I'll fly away. Heaven awaits!
