Diane Coggeshall:  

After graduation I attended Whittier College with two academic scholarships and majored in Sociology and Anthropology. I then enrolled in the Masters in Anthropology program at Cal State University Long Beach, intending to become a college professor. In the middle of that I was offered a job as a Social Worker by United Way, which I accepted, being sick and tired of going to school. During that stint while living in Seal Beach, I met my husband, Arnold Coggeshall, who was finishing up at Cal State Long Beach. I was 26 and he was 28. A little over a year later we married, and made our home in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles. He began a career in finance in Westwood, and I was working as an account executive for an employment agency on Wilshire Blvd. While there, I was chosen as Wilshire Chamber of Commerce Queen, and we had a lot of fun going to banquets and balls and other events with some of the city of Los Angeles dignitaries and movers and shakers.
