Diane's Story

May, 2014 - got to spend Mother's Day week in CA - went to the beach three times since it was over 100 degrees the whole week we were there - wow! Grandkids are all getting so big, the ones is CA range from 21 to 2 so did all kinds of different things with them. My daughter and her hubby took off 3 days of work to hang with us, so that was so cool, and two of her sons played in a soccer tournament in Upland on the Friday before we left to come back to IN, so got to see them play. Our 21 year old grandson is into surfing and rock climbing so went and watched him climb a couple of walls at Hangar 18 in Upland, he is pretty good. The two little ones, 4 and 2 is where we stay when we are out there, in Corona, so fun to see how they are growing - Gracie starts K in fall. November 2012 - turned 60 today - not so bad. Had a great day, even though the weather here in IN is a bit cold for me. (warmer than Wisconsin, tho) We moved here last month to be closer to the 3 grand-kids that live in IN. Mike is working from home now, so I need to get a job but they are limited here so may take a while. Too young to retire. We were in CA also last month to visit with the 6 grand-kids that live there for a week. We went to the beach one day to just hang out, a warm Sunday, and then got to watch them play AYSO soccer and school football and just had a blast! Sure do miss the mexican food and had 2 in 'n' out double doubles while we were there, may be good that I am not so close anymore - ha-ha Nov. 2011 - ...Expand for more
Oh boy, So. Cal born and raised moving to a state that had 96 inches of snow last winter. Should be an adventure. At least we are both Green Bay Packer fans. Also, going to be blessed with a 9th grandchild in the summer of 2012. Life as of 5/2010 I have 8 grandchildren, 6 grandsons and 2 granddaughters. Soccer season keeps us busy every Sat. during the spring and fall with 5 grandsons playing in Chino and Rancho Cucamonga. My husband relocated in his job to Delano, CA in Jan. 08, so moved again. Now, it takes about 3-1/2 hours to get to LA area to watch grandsons with soccer. It is a lot warmer here in summer than in Belmont Shore, but not walking distance to the ocean anymore, so that is a big drag. But no traffic, so maybe an almost fair exchange. I was temping for a year in the fiscal dept. of a non-profit company in Visalia, and was finally hired on permanent as of May 1, 2010. 2006 - Moved to Belmont Shore, a block from the beach and the bay. Walking distance to Seal Beach - we have a blast and the grand-kids love being there on the weekends. 2nd St. is too much fun. December 2022 - 9 grandkids, 2 great-grandkids - my sister, Sharon, passed away in October this year so trying to adjust to not calling her to tell her a funny story or if something funny happens during the day. Had a mellow Christmas, my hubby and I took a road trip on the panhandle of Florida - it was freezing cold and now that we are home the weather is in the 70's. Wish everyone a very happy and healthy New Year!
