Diane's Story
Life
A short synopsis of my life: Graduated from Ohio State University in 1973 with a B.A. in Art Education,Worked( teaching art) in Eufaula Alabama and Sarasota Florida before returning to Ohio and got a Masters in Teaching Gifted from Kent State in 1976. Moved to Michigan met the most wonderful man to escape from the Soviet Union married him in 1978. Had daughter number one in 1982 and had the luxury of making the career change of being a stay at home Mom .. had daughter number two in 1988And that's the story of me without dramatic and informatively revealing embellishments.
School
I came to Boardman in the winter of 1960( from Youngstown's South side) and attended Market Street Elem. I developed Crohn's disease in junior high and it kept me from really cutting loose . Only my closest friends even knew what I had and even the...Expand for more
y had no real idea of all the crap( pun intended)I was dealing with. My illness kept me looking 12years old all through high school. The good part about that was that I got to play Helen Keller when BHS did The Miracle Worker. I still remember all my lines! Then, as in all good stories with happy endings,in college my curves appeared as the illness disappeared.I look back on high school and my fellow classmates with a fond affection that grows as the years pass.
College
Ohio State the early 70's what more do I have to say? Spring 1970 ,protest marches, hanging out on The Oval blowing bubbles and listening to music, tear gas. Then Kent State happened and suddenly it wasn't fun any more. Art Education classes and the joy of being young and free...that was undergrad for me. Then to Kent in 1976/77 for a Masters in teaching Gifted.
