Dianna's Story
My story....hummmm I am probably the most boring person that ever graduated from El Campo High School!
After graduating from High School, I went to Wharton County Jr. College for one year for lack of anything better to do as "my love" was in Germany wearing the uniform of an American soldier. Gene came home in August 1963 and we got married March 21, 1964. Our first anniversary I spent "home alone" with our new ll day old son, Duane. Gene had a weekend National Guard Drill that weekend. We lived in El Campo until 1967 when we moved to Kerrville after finding out the barber shop my great uncle went too was for sale. While in Kerrville we had two more boys, Doug and Damon. In 1977 we moved to Belton where our boys all went to school and graduated from High School. During all the years in Belton, I did in-home day care and Gene barbered in Temple.

er the kids were all gone, Gene finally stepped out and opened his own barber shop. We decided that Gene would make the living and I could loaf, something I am really good at. We moved to Temple that year and will probably spend the rest of our lives here.
Our oldest son, Duane retired from the US Navy last year and he and his wife and two daughters, Taylor-9 yrs. and Payton-5 yrs., live in Corpus Christi. Our middle son, Doug, lives in Temple and has never married. Our youngest son, Damon lives in Houston and he has two boys, Brendon-8 yrs. and Bradley-7 yrs. Damon just remarried last month, and from that marriage we inherited two more grandchildren, Samantha-10 yrs. and Kaden-5 yrs.
Gene and I were married 44 years last March...it doesn't seem like I should be that old much less married that long. Where did the time go? That is my whole life in a nutshell.
