Dianne's Story

It´s been a long time since we graduated from AHS, but as someone said, if you say it fast, 50 years doesn´t sound like too long! I graduated from Texas Western, which was UTEP by the time I got my master´s in English in 1975. I taught English in El Paso for several years, but when my husband´s work called for a move to Mississippi (where I never thought I would end up), I found Spanish teachers were desperately needed, so I became one! levels from jr. high to community college. I still teach at a local community college here in Pearl, MS, but my stay in this state was interrupted by a nine-year stay in Alamogordo, NM, after my divorce. (I was married for 33 years and didn´t even believe in divorce!! . . . but relationships do die). Felt very at home there, but after my Dad and (7 years later) my Mom died, I headed back here to where my two great children and their families are. Am kind of semi-retired and enjoying life. Would love to hear from Austinites.
