Life (Edited and updated, Nov. 20, 2019)
Retired from Bakersfield City School District in June '07. Now living in San Luis Obispo, CA. Retired from teaching Adult Education with the Lucia Mar school district in Arroyo Grande, in 2013, where I taught computer skills to Senior Citizens. Also retired from Supervisor at California Holistic Institute in SLO, in 2018. Enjoying the small town beach community and the cool, clean, ocean air. This is paradise to me, a dream come true. I am also a certified Massage Therapist part-time. My youngest sister Dale married David Martin (Mike Martin's younger brother) and they live 10 minutes away. (Old news, they have moved to Tennessee) My youngest son also moved to Pismo and my daughter lives in San Luis Obispo, so I have family close by. Both my parents have passed and my middle sister, Donnie, is still in Bakersfield. . Son, Cody, has twin boys, born in 2010 and living in Grass Valley, CA.

ouldn't wait to get in the car and light up. We ducked down so no one could see us smoking. Wow, we were very racy in those days!!! One person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Gerald Lee. He was a neighbor and one of my childhood sweethearts from Kindergarten to the 6th grade at Pioneer Drive School. I think he was the first boy I ever kissed and would you believe we were in Kindergarten. There was a vineyard between our neighborhood and the school that we walked through on our way home everyday. One day we decided it was time to try kissing. As I recall it didn't do anything for me or him so we never tried it again. During the 5th grade he developed cancer and passed away. During his whole illness which lasted about a year, I always remember him as a cheerful, happy and upbeat person as he usually was. I never heard him complain or act upset about anything. That was my first experience in dealing with real human life and death. It was a surreal experience and at the time I didn't understand the concept of just how long forever was. Its been 50 years and seems like its been forever. I still think of him occasionally after all these years and wonder about the rest of his family.
