Dolly's Story

Dolly is from Guilford, Connecticut. Dolly's schools include Guilford High School. One of Dolly's favorite quotes is:""Remember me with smiles and laughter for that is how I will remember you........If you remember me with tears and sadness, then don't remember me at all" ~author is unknown~". More about Dolly:"Today is a gift, tomorrow....... a miracle. Live each day as if it is your last. We are only here for such a short time that we need to make the most of it. ~DM I'm in a relationship for almost 9 yrs. I met Wendy Thru some friends. We have had some very trying times in our life together. Wendy at the age of 32 was diagnoised w/cancer, specifically breast at stage 3. She went thru the masectomy and we thought all was well until she developed a cough. We now know the cancer is back and with metastasies in both lungs, her liver and then on top of all that, they discovered she also has Ovarian CA. Currently she looks great, feels pretty good. The tumors throughout her body have not grown, no new tumors, and her blood work looks great. She is at stage 4, which is terminal, and will never be tumor free,so the goal is to keep an even keel. I pray that God will bless her with the same miracle he gave to me some 30 years ago.We take one day at a time and are blessed with friends and family who are there for us when we...Expand for more
need them or just to drag me out for a glass of wine or coffee. You know who you are and I love you for it ;>) Update:12/12/2011 Wendy has come from the doctors and we got some bad news. New tumors found on her liver and she will be starting a different Rx, now that the other is no longer working for her. She stays strong (better than me) and will try this new Rx for 3 months. They will check her to see if there has been any improvement. If not, she will have to go back to conventional Rx, which at this time she leaning towards not going that route. Things have turned upside down for me. After 25 years at the USPS, I've been forced into retirement due to my disability. So, with no health insurance, or income, it has been a HUGE change in our lives. It is the unknown that is scary. So you may see me at the drive-thru window at McDonald's soon. ;>) Dad's passing has been hard, but we had time to prepare, though you never really are when its a parent, are we? I suddenly felt 5 again. Then 3 weeks later Cousin George, age 50, died suddenly in his sleep. He and his family have been so intertwined with mine since we all were babies, that I still have not been able to move on. Such a fun loving, caring and humble individual. Those who knew him will forever be changed without him in our lives.".
