Don's Story
I left RI for Ohio University and a career in journalism that covered print, radio and television. That included a couple of stints with the Associated Press in Providence. Also worked as a reporter and newscaster for a TV station in Huntington, WV. From 1985 until I retired in 2017, I worked at the Voice of America in Washington, DC as a writer, editor and shift supervisor. It was a wonderful experience getting to know people from all over the world, and broadcasting back to their countries. karta and Singapore. We have a son who lives in Maryland and a daughter and family living on Okinawa, Japan. She and her husband and our two grandsons visit each summer, and we see them the rest of the year on Facetime when it's nighttime for us and daytime for them. Elaine and I live in one of the most interesting and exciting locales in the country - the Baltimore-Washington corridor. We love our church life and our organic gardening. She has her own interior design business and loves helping clients find ways to make older homes look new and exciting. We met in church - ain't that wholesome!? ;>
