Don's Story
I entered the Navy after High School for four years. Dana and I married in 1972, the first full year of my Navy experience. We moved from Virginia back to Portland, in fact in the same house we lived in during high school. We lived there for a year or so and moved into our first new home around 1978 in Calallen. I got a job at Celanese in Bishop TX and worked there until a layoff in 2005 or so. I had worked myself up in the company as an entry level helper to a shift supervisor that made powered Ibuprofen. That is when I also went on disability due to a bad back. I had three surgeries to try and repair my lower back but they could not rid me of my severe pain. So I take meds for the pain and try to exercise some and then rest. It is okay as I have seen people in much worse pain than I so I am thankful. Dana and I lived in Calallen until 2007 when Dana was offered a better position with her Oil and Gas company, EOG Resources, in Dallas Tx. Dana as well has worked up in her job as a secretary to her new job in Dallas/Fort Worth. Dana remains very healtly and weighs less than in high school and is so beautiful. r her in my life. We had lived in our old house in Calallen for about 30 years and thought we would retire there as well. But we had this house built new Grand Prairie, Tx and big for our five grandchildren. Our daughter lives five minutes from us with two grand kids and our son lives in Austin with three more grand children. So the move has been nice. Dana and I are doing fine. We have our fights still, just like high school, but we have been married going on 38 years so we are doing something right. The biggest change in my life, and I know many will not believe this, but I found Jesus Christ 20 years or so ago and have spent every day trying to do what He wants me to do. I am thankful to have Christ guiding my life now. I was not doing such a good job. So hope I have updated you on my life. I would love to hear from you. I do miss my high school friends. High School, for me, was the best time of my life and I had a blast. I guess for most of my high school friends most of us knew each other at least from the third grade on thru graduation. Hope each of you are doing good. Hope to hear from you soon.
Peace & Love,
Don
