Don's Story

Well, I was born very young. Me:5 8 and fat. Silver (ne grey!) Hair. 56 yr old in a 75 year old's body (took one of those tests) with a 12 year old's attitude and spirit! Sex: Male Current City: Charlotte,NC Birthday: February 3, 1954 Hometown: New Dorp, Staten Island,NY Children(1st Marriage '74-85) Jennifer Victoria (30) Kathleen (Katie) Rose )26) Parents:Letitia Jessie Koch Bryan Ligamari ... dat'd B m'Mom (82) Charles Raymond Bryan (87) .. dis'ed B m'Fadda. Siblings: Nancy Letitia Bryan Taylor Klingler Lawrence Allen Bryan Relationship Status: Married to Robin Bryan Anniversary:June13,'87 Akron,NY Interested In: Women and Men Looking For: Friendship, Networking Political Views:Extremely Liberal except on Immigration, Registered Democrat Religious Views: Religion should be abolished = Less prejudice, discrimination, hypocrisy, Political Unrest, Division and War.As noted above ... I strongly believe religion should be abolished. All. Particularly so-called christian cults (face it, that's all that they are) with the self-rightous, holier than though evangelicals who have deemed it necessary to tell everyone how they should live, ignoring the fact we are in a free country all together. Check history, see how often the worlds greatest conflicts were generated by religion. Or that civilizations have been literally exterminated by them. Or how great and wonderful everything may be going someplace, at some point in time, like now for instance and everything evolves to turmoil, hate and discontent immediately when religion becomes involved. Making matters worse is that over the past 40 years, and still going, they've conclusively determined that the christian faith and their bible is nearly 100% fiction. The man they call Jesus wasn't even born in Bethlehem, let alone performed any miracles and he never died on the cross, ergo never rose from the dead. For any reason. Though married with children, the man was a voracious homosexual. This is clearly documented in papers and doctrines drafted by the Disciple Mark (with others) and the first Pope. So when you hear about the "Jesus of Faith" vs. the "Historical Jesus" the difference is like night and day, two sides of the coin. Total, fictional, fabrication is the only really true thing that can be stated of the bible. The books, articles, documents etc. are out there. Readily available for anyone wanting honesty, truth and trust in developing perhaps a Spiritual life vs. religious. Actually, I speak two languages; English and American English - the 1st, one and only official language this Nation of ours should have. Interests & Activities: 100% permanetly disabled. Activities are sedentary. Like to go to Antique Shops (Teeker), rarely buy. Discussions (see below), Reading, limited gardening and yard work. Travel.Interests: Spirituality. Politics. Abolishing Relgion. Pro-Choice. If it doesn't hurt you or others, why not do it? I like to go Ghost Chasing (I've 'been with' 3 in my life, thus far. No doubt about it!) Travel, particularly NC & VA mountains/valley's, Shennandoah Valley, Vermont. Civil War Historic Sites. Working on an 800 year family Lineage, with pictures back to the 1840's, compiling select themeatic music CD's, such as a Celtic CD, Patriotic CD, etc. Writing essays on issues I feel strongly about. Favorite Music: From Mozart to Elton John, Louis Armstrong to Simon and Garfunkel, Folk Music to Billy Joel, Ray Charles to Male Welch Choirs, Gregorian Chanting to 1930-1940's Swing - Glen Miller is my favorite. Older Country to Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Sammy Davis Jr., or Tony Bennet. I cannot stand HipHop, Rap or Gospel - when they're yelling and screaming, clappin' jumpin' and thumpin' as though they're being dragged across a bed of nails layered with hot coals. Favorite TV Shows:I don't watch TV per se. Can't stand the Commercials. I do catch CNN, MSNBC and record shows from the Science, Military, History and History International channels. I love the DVD set...Expand for more
of The West Wing. Favorite Movies:Legends of the Fall, Saving Private Ryan, The Da Vinci Code, The Ocean's Movies, The Jason Bourne Trilogy and always see any James Bond movie when it first comes out - - havta see how he's handling everything that I've taught him ya know!! Favorite Books: My Side of the Mountain, anything by Silvia Browne, Biographies, Historical Novels, Holy Blood Holy Grail, The Jesus Papers or any others that prove the fallacy of the christian religion. Jesus, the poor guy wasn't even born in Bethlehem, didn't die on a cross or anything. The bible is truly one big jewish fairy tale as Bill Maher would say. It destroys families & societies. Favorite Quotations:To Thine Own Self Be True Bill Shakespeare, Not all who Wander are Lost J.R.R. Tolkien ...I took the road less traveled by, and that has made all the difference Bobby Frost ....Let him march to the music that he hears, however measured or far away Henry David ThoreauAbout Recoverying Alcoholic/Addict for 27 years ... but I create some wicked concoctions in the cocktails I make for My Sugarpops ...d'ated be Robin! (wife #2 - 1987 'til now) I'm not one of those AA'ers seeing no place in other people's lives for alcohol. I've worked as a Messenger through the down/&mid-town areas of Manhattan, as a paperboy around age 12 I'm a 20 yr 6 month, 3 week and 5 day Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Rose to the rank of Master Sergeant (that's 3 stripes up & 3 down) Retired from being the S-1 Administrative Personnel Chief of the largest operational battalion in the Marine Corps. Then onto a 20 year career as an Alcohol & Drug, Addictions Counselor (this career overlapped the Marine Corps) to include Treatment Director positions of some very large facilities. My favorite time was at Amethyst in Charlotte 1992-1998. From 1993-1996 we were ranked as the 3rd most sought after facility after Betty Ford and Hazelden ... then were taken over by a corporate giant and folded 3 years later. I cannot stand heat, being hot. It will literally make me sick. I don't like to feel cold, but I enjoy cold/cool weather.....anyone can just throw on that extra sweater Have a great sense of humor, often put myself as the point of self-depracating jokes! Care for others despite how they may care for me. Proud to be a Gampa. Love animals every shape and size. I don't generally discuss my health. My disabilities are a myriad of serious maladies. The list is long. The stories are long. The endings the same. I'm grateful none are contagious. Of my two daughters from my first marriage, Katie Rose has brought to us three Granson's; Desmond Anthony Jones, 8, Beaufort SC., Sean Devlin Stewart, 5, Charlotte & Lathen Daniel Bryan, 2, Columbia SC. Yeah, and three different fathers too! Our Seany Boy has lived with us since 11 months old. He is a treasure to have and a wonderful young man. He has several mental health issues which are a challenge to him of course, and with being 100% permanently disabled it certainly is a challenge, but welcomed, to us. I am a extremely strong advocate of Woman's rights, Pro-Choice and Gay/Lesbian rights to include marriage. I live a very Spiritual life (Spirituality and Religion being two extremely different things! which I could also prove to anyone beyond question), generous, good natured, do not believe in causing hurt to others and live by the Wiccan saying of Harm None. I am not a Wiccan. It's some of their beliefs and symbols which I admire and respect. I was greatly surprised I chose to engage in this service and site. That's because I always hated HS. Like, totally. Not the people. The curriculum and the system. I still will have occassional nightmares about it ... running to class and never getting there, loosing some assignment or something, oh, a whole bunch of things. We try to keep things lite and upbeat which I'd kind of have to what with being with Robin and her nickname for me and my license plate to letja know I'm her, Snuggumz So Howdoyadoo, dis'B ME!
