Don's Story
OK, here's a brief history. After Summit HS, I tried a few colleges and ended up at the New York Institute of Technology in Long Island majoring in communications. Graduating in '80, (I was on the six year plan!), I became chief engineer at a small local AM radio station on Long Island. I moved on to Cablevision, where I designed and installed television studios. I eventually landed at ABC Television Network in Manhattan, repairing and maintaining broadcast audio equipment for the network. 20 years later, I'm now the supervisor of the Audio T...Expand for more

During the week I work at ABC, but on weekends I work as a whitewater river guide on the Lehigh River in Pennsylvania for a company called Whitewater Challengers. In the mid '80's, I became interested in whitewater rafting, and ran a number of rivers every year. After moving to western NJ in '91,
I decided to give river guiding a try and started training in '94. I'm now a Trip Leader and Guide Trainer. It's great to get out in the country most weekends after working in the city all week!
