Don's Story
First of all...I have to say that I rarely come to Classmates.com anymore. If you haven't already joined Facebook, you should. Most of us are on Facebook now...lol. And we have a North Pole Memorial page for fallen friends, faculty and staff. Please consider coming to Facebook!
Life
Hi everyone. I've been back in my hometown of Colorado Springs since 1989. I am an attorney and I teach at the University of Phoenix and taught at Denver Paralegal School/Denver Career College. Never been married, but hoping to be someday. Still learning something new about the Lord Jesus Christ every day. Hope to hear from you soon.
School
North Pole Jr.-Sr. High School ceased to exist after graduation in 1984. Still a Patriot at heart but have enjoyed life since graduation.
College
Survived Harvard from 1984-1988 but enjoyed the best time of my life in Seville, Spain in 1987.
Enjoyed law school at the University of Denver College of Law and have, for the most part, enjoyed being a lawyer.
I enjoy teaching Business...Expand for more
and Employment Law and Criminal Justice at the University of Phoenix here in Colorado.
Workplace
After graduating from law school I primarily owned my own legal practice specializing in Family Law, Criminal Defense, Personal Injury and other general fields.
I worked as a Prosecutor for the City of Colorado Springs for a year and half and loved it.
I also worked for Colorado Legal Services from July, 2003 until February, 2006. I provided free legal services primarily to vicitims of Domestic Violence and their children, helping well over 450 adults and children. I really loved that job.
I was a partner with Kimberly Roepke Whiting for 2 years and both of us decided to expand our horizons a bit. I back in Private Practice now and am applying to become a judge or magistrate in Colorado Springs.
On the side I used to teach at Denver Career College/Denver Paralegal Institute and currently teach Business and Employment Law and Criminal Justice at several local Colorado branches of the University of Phoenix.
