Don's Story

In November of 1989 I moved to Maine to live with my dad. For the most part people in school never really knew me at all. As a matter of fact I can 100% bet you that no one really knew anything really personal about me at all in Jr, or High school. I came from an extremely bad home life, filled with a lot of abuse, neglect, and violence. I coped with my life by internalizing my home life, and keeping myself busy working at Papa Ginos. I struggled with self issues, never dated in High School, and was constantly dealing with my own self control. There were many times I just wanted to lash out, and unload on some people in school, but my cooler side kept me in check alway thinking of not being like my siblings, or parents and let my anger or emotions take over. In hind sight, this was a good thing, for me, and some people in school that really could have quite possibly been hurt especially considering my home life and how it could have influenced my thought processes back then. (not bragging). I just didn't want to be that kind of person. I spent a lot of time watching how childish some of the people acted with each other in High School, just waiting for graduation day to leave. How odd was it when I moved back to MA in 1998 ten years later, and noticed just how much I never really connected with anyone from school. I, to this day have not seen anyone I graduated with with the exception of two people. (Which is odd because working for the reunion group I found that many people did not even move out of the area, as a matter of fact are still in Weymouth). Frank Sansone(spelling), and one person who worked under me (yes I was his boss) Barry Wood of all people are the only two I have seen. Both of whom were almost unrecognizable to me. Amazing how just 10 or 15 years changes a persons appear...Expand for more
ance. I on the other hand other than packing on 30lbs, think I am pretty much the same as I was. Not balding or anything, and unlike Barry Wood who looks to be about 52 now, still look younger than I am. (38 is not old). I am by no means dumping on Frank or Barry, just observations. Frank I have always liked, and Barry Wood, well to be honest I still don't like him now, as he still has not changed. Anyhow here is the jist of it. I live in Mansfield MA now, renting a 2 bedroom condo. I have two cars, 1 guinea pigs, 3 cats, my loving wife, no kids, plenty of bills and taxes (I was never good with my money =) ) I work for a large Data Center in Boston (Charlestown)as an Operations Technician. I have owned to date over 36 cars since I was 15 which averages out to about 2 cars a year. I have been in one major car accident that I walked away from, had 6 girlfriends (two of which were sisters =) ) many crushes, and no longer associate myself with any of my family members because they all pretty much are complete a-holes. Not an adult in the bunch with the exception of my Sister =). I was NOT shocked about Tim Cassidy becoming a murderer and actually making to the lower section of the America's most wanted website =). To imagine I lived with him once oh boy. I hope to reconnect with people from my past, it would be nice to see some of the people who I did interact with. There is a quote that now I find most fascinating by Author E.M. Forster "Only Connect". To me in the end that is what matters. How much of an impact we make on each other. How much of me did you all really see, and how much was assumed or appeared. Not many people saw who I really was back in the day. =) Anyhoo I do have a Face Book page that is more active than here so if anyone is interested drop me a line there =)
