Don's Story
After Edison (1957-1960) and Will Rogers(1960-61), I earned a BS in physics from TU, an MS in physics from University of Missouri at Columbia, and a PhD in geophysics from Saint Louis University.
Began as a research geophysicist with Cities Service (1971-74), then became a Research Associate for the Amoco Research Center (1974-2003) until retirement.
Married in 1965 and had 4 children: Stephanie, Brian...Expand for more
, David, and Sarah.
Wife of 34 years died in 1999; I remarried in 2003.
Currently a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Texas at Austin.
Hobbies include playing trombone in the Houston Symphonic Band, reading, jogging, cycling, travelling, and saying yes to 12 grandchildren.
I feel blessed to have gone to excellent public schools in Tulsa and competed with so many above average classmates.
