Don's Story
So anyone who knows me knows that the canned Q&A doesn't have my REAL passion listed -- flying!
Yep, I'm a pilot. I hold an FAA Airline Transport Pilot certificate and a Certified Flight Instructor certificate. I fly, and teach in, planes on land, planes on the water, planes with one engine, planes with more than one engine, planes with propellors, and jets (whenever I can). I love to fly and I love to teach, so doing both (teaching flying) is the tops! I fly recreationally and I fly Search and Rescue and other missions for the Air Force and for our country. These days, however, due to time constraints, I fly very little.
There's only one thing that could ever top my love for flying -- and that's my love for my family. I'm married to a beautiful, generous, smart and caring woman, and have two absolutely spectacular daughters.
After a couple of short spats living elsewhere (active duty Air Force, apartments in Manchester, NH and North Andover, MA), I'm back living in Chelmsford (since 1998). Factoid: ...Expand for more
If you knew me in High School, you know that music was an important part of my life. And you may know that for the annual CHS Winter Concert, alumni are welcomed back to join the stage for the grand finale, which is always the performance of Hallelujah from Handel's Messiah. Interestingly enough, I have been fortunate enough to perform in EVERY CHS Winter Concert since coming to CHS as a student in 1983. So at current count, 4 years as a student and 26 as an alum -- for a total of 30 (so far).... Other than listening to the radio and CDs, it's really my only tie back to music (my former passion).
