Don's Story
Life
Born in Ft Worth and raised everywhere. Typical story for an Army brat...emphasis on the word, "Brat". Hopefully, I've finally outgrown that since leaving Poly.
After graduation, I went to work at Southwest Builders Supply producing louvered doors. After the long hot summer, I joined the Army, trained in combat surveillance photography, then served as an instructor, and moved on to intelligence analyst.
After completing my military obligation, I returned to Texas with a new bride and entered Arlington State College under the GI Bill, and earned my BBA.
A career in data processing has taken me from DFW to Detroit, Milwaukee, Kansas City, and San Angelo. I returned to DFW in the 80's and settled in Euless until I retired in 2001.
I have one son by a previous marriage and two grandsons.

me me and I returned to one of my childhood homes in Friedburg, Germany. The scars of WWII were gone, and a beautiful, reconstructed, modern Germany was in its place. I fell in love with the new Germany and we return often to visit friends and family.
My wife was born in Lamperthiem (near Mannheim). Our favorite places in Germany are Bad Nauheim, Mannheim, Mainz, and Oets ( quaint Baverian village between Munich and Erding.)
We were returning to Frankfurt from Vienna when the Berlin Wall came down. With the fall of the Soviet Union, my wander-lust was awakened. Now, Frankfurt has become a launch-point for our European adventures.
When not at home playing with our two dachshunds, Hans and Gretchen, I can be found fishing, or playing golf or tennis. In the fall, I coach a youth bowling league at Showplace - Euless.
