Donald's Story
Elementary school --Miami Springs Elementary
7th grade--Hialeah Junior High
8th grade -- the new Hialeah High
9th grand -- Miami Springs Junior High
10 - 12 -- Hialeah High
College : University of Florida (two years-- I did not cover myself with glory.)
Miami Dade Junior College -- (two year trying to straighten out my record.)
Florida Presbyterian College ( Eckerd College) graduated 1967
Columbia Theological Seminary for 7 quarters (It would 9 to become a minister.
Questioned my calling, not my faith. Left and went to work.)
Employment: While in seminary, I was working for Eastern Air Lines part time on the Atlanta
ticket counter. Tried to get full time but they were computerizing and cutting
agents. I transferred to the Ft Lauderdale counter. From there I transferred to the
Eastern System One computer system. Quicklu worked my way up from operator-
trainee to operator to senior operator to shift supervisor to tech specialist to facility
manager. Before Ea...Expand for more
stern went out of business, the computer department was
pulled out as a separate company (EAL Automation System) merged with other
entities and became System One Corporation. System One hired Electronic Data
System to handle the operations part and 1,300 of us transferred to EDS. I retired
from EDS in 2005.
In 2009 I moved to a beach house south of St Augustine, tripled the size of the house and
plan to live here the rest of my life. I live here with two white German Sheppards ( I never
married - did not meet someone rich enough to afford me and dumb enough to want me.
I live one block from the beach and walk on it as often as possible. When I do not walk,
it is after the left knee had to be replaced, the right knee had to have Arthroscopic surgery
for a torn meniscus. I don't know if I am trying to scrape the tarnish from the golden years
or trying to paint gold on the tarnish years.
I will try to remember your names, but I am terrible with name. Everyone should be numbered. I remember numbers. In HHS I was 1821.
My school annuals disappeared years ago.
