Donald's Story

Life After an interlude of several years teaching history at my alma mater, the University of Chicago, along with writing on film for the Chicago Reader, I migrated to the Washington, DC, area, where I served for 13 years as director of Media Arts Centers and Radio Projects for Media Arts Program at the National Endowment for the Arts. ram. I am now senior technical writer for the Commerce Department's Office of Spectrum Management. Along the way, I continued to write about film and media theory, and lately have developed an interest in cooking. For the past year, I have spent many of my off hours as a chef's assistant at L'Academie de Cuisine. My wife Sylvia has been a professor at the University of Maryland Dance Department for 31 years (she's finally going to retire in 2008), and our daughter Nicola is a rising artist and designer in NYC (with a cool new line of designer t-shirts for toddlers under the label Droopy Knickers).
