Barbara's Story
Life
I have gone round robin. I lived the first 60 yrs in Oakland, CA. Then to Pleasanton, then to British Columbia. Spent a year plus in Oregon.I am back in California now in Rossmoor. I took up golfing several yrs ago but never have played enough to do anything but have fun. I also got certified in SCUBA, something I had wanted to do for years. Another class mate was instrumental and helped me over the hurdles so I could do it.
I ran 1/2 marathons and several 10K races when I lived in the Bay Area. Since my knees gave out I do not run. I also like to cross country ski again. Maybe some day. Never say never.

In school I was shy. Not anymore.
My mom died this year. She was only 17 when I was born so she was my best friend, mother, sister, role model all wrapped up in one wonderful body.
School
I went back to school when I was 45 and earned my Bachelors before my 50th birthday.
Workplace
I retired from the wonderful world of insurance. My last position was selling professional liability insurance to CPA's.
I keep active with my family, friends and Rossmoor.
2 years ago I met the love of my life, Don Gilbert. We got married and are enjoying family, travel and golf together. And growing old with fun.
