Military
My Marine Corps career began in Southern California. I was sent to Japan as my first duty station. I stayed there for two years, traveled around the main land, and China. I returned to the US and was stationed at Camp Lejuene, NC. I was immediately sent to Norway (Artic Circle) on operations. I was sure that I pissed someone ...Expand for more
off. Leaving the tropical island of Japan for the Artic was not cool! I had never been more cold. I returned to North Carolina and then found myself on Sea Duty aboard the USS Nimitz. That was 6 months after I returned from Norway. Spent two years traveling Europe, North Africa, and the Carribean. Upon my return from there, I was sent to Southern Illinois as an Instructor at a Infantry Reserve Unit. Three years in one place. Left there for Wash, D.C. Was there 8 months and promoted to a Warrant Officer.
Went to school and was sent back to Camp Lejeune. From there I went to Southwest Asia. Upon returning from the war, I was sent to the Recruiting District in Philadelphia. I spent 9 months there and was sent to a Helo Squadron in California for deployment to Japan, Korea, and Thailand. Returned to California and rotated back for six months. Upon that return, we deployed to Somalia. I then retired.
