Donald Riggins:

CLASS OF 1967
Pell city, AL

Donald's Story

After graduating from St.Clair County Trng. School, I attended Talladega College thru the first semester of my Sophomore year. In Feb. of '69, I joined the U.S.Navy as a hospital corpsman,(HA). During the 10 yrs. of active duty I became a Nuclear Medicine Tech stationed in Portsmouth, VA. In May 1974 I was born-again in the Lord Jesus Christ and began studies in Pastoral Theology at Atlantic Baptist Bible College. I attended classes in the evening after leaving the clinic. One of the prison ministries I became involved with was Camp 22 in Chesapeake, VA. At the end of my military enlistment, I became a Civil Service Electronics Technician, (WG-11), while continuing preparin and working in various ministry-related fields. One of the highlights my family and I enjoyed was working with the deaf members of the Sunday School and church departments. I resigned from Civil Service to work the financial services, asset management fields. Seeing families in America devastated by the lack and/or mismanagement of family's wealth caused me to seek out remedies to help resolve these issues. What a revelation of how insidious the real factors affecting the individual and family institutions are! Skipping to NOW-- My journey has carried me through harsh and debil...Expand for more
itating events; yet the grace of God has always sustained my wife and me. [I thank Him for a wonderful wife/friend and mother and grandmother to our family!] I work from home now, due to my current health disabilities. My activties involve the proper means of assisting people who are hurting through online sources. Today, there are so many ways to touch the lives of the individual that encourages and lifts them above the apparent dilemma that's torturing them. Having to deal with the health problems of my wife and self on a daily basis allows me to be sensitive to the pain of others. I've learned alot from my years in medicine that gives certain insights that I try to share with those I'm able to communicate with. Project: Challenge International is a financial stewardship activity designed to build a family's earnings from a very meager beginning to a well-established and solid estate. Then putting that "estate" to work, INVESTING IN OTHERS who are where that family once was... each one reach one, each one teach one! There are so many good resources available that anyone seriously concerned about the true issues of their life and wanting to leave a legacy to this and future generations of "who" they are/were and "what" they contributed... CAN!
