Life
I was born near Irene, South Dakota, and my family moved to California in 1942. We moved to Valley Way in Sunny Slope, Riverside in 1946. After graduation, I attended Riverside City College one year, then joined the Navy, and was in 4 years. I did further studies at UCLA, and began teaching in the LA Public Schools, where I taught at Millican Jr. High and Patrick Henry Jr. High. I taught primarily Printing and Photography. ired from the Postal Service. I married my second wife, Ann, in 1979. I have 3 sons: Dan (age 35, lives in Massachusetts, has 3 children), Tim (33, has an RV business in Mass., 3 children), and David (17, HS Junior). My wife & I own Spring Creek Mill in Hurley, a water-powered grist mill built in 1892, which we are restoring, and hope to develop into the Stone County/Southwest Missouri History Museum. My favorite pastime is old cars and I am active in the Ozark Antique Auto Club & the Model-T Club. We are members of the Asbury United Methodist Church in Springfield, but also attend the Viewpoint Fundamental Meth. Church near Hurley. We are also members of the Stone County Historical Society.
