Donald's Story
After High School I went to SUNY Oswego for four years and spent time as Business Administration major with a minor in English, then moved on to Fine Arts and finally graduated with a degree in Industrial Arts. After thaat it was on to a Master's degree at SUNY Brockport. A few years were spent drifting in an out of the teaching profession as the "baby boom" went bust and jobs in teaching became scarce. I worked as a freelance fine art and wedding photographer, graphic artist, roofer, builder and even a private investigator to pay the bills. In the end I've pretty much spent the last last 33 years teaching Industrial Arts, then Technology and finally Engineering classes in the Rochester City School District after teaching in Auburn and Spencerport. A short stint was spent as an Vice Principal, but disciplining kids all day became stale really fast! sities and SUNY colleges to develop the current Engineering curriculum and train teachers. My wife Jeanne and I met at Oswego and have now been married thirty three years! After graduation we purchased a run down Victorian welfare rental house in the heart of Rochester and completely rebuilt it as our residence. We still own the house but we now consider Geneva our home. .Twenty years ago we purchased Jeanne's childhood cottage on the edge of Seneca lake and completely rebuilt it into a year round home, Unfortunately it burned to the ground four years ago and we've now built a new year round home in it's place. We have a wonderful daughter Sinead, who is now a Junior at PACE University in Manhattan. Of course the vast majority of my paycheck now also calls Manhattan home as a result! I could have retired a couple of years ago but I just can;t seem to wrap my head around retirement. Maybe once my daughter graduates. In the meantime there are always old cars and boats to play with! I can't believe it has been almost 40 years since graduation, and I would love to hear from any old friends.
