GOING FISHING, HUNTING, AND BOATING.Was inducted as life member of San Antonio Blues Society June 2011 in musician category. Since then I have had the honor of sitting in with Pinetop Perkins, Willie "Big Eyes" Smith, Jimmie Vaughan, and others playing trumpet and blues harp. Nov 2014 elected Democratic Precinct Chair for my part of Northeast Bexar County Tx.
After 35 years I'm back in radio, doing a weekend shift at KSYM-FM 90.1 in San Antonio. It's a volunteer gig but I love it. If you want to hear the old fart after all these years we stream online. June 2015. The old dog is learning new tricks. I'm learning how to play drums and getting fairly good at it. April 2018 Finally completed one more item on my bucket list. Got my student pilot license and bought a plane. Hope to solo in about 2 months.
I'm now an officer in the Commemorative Air Force, restoring and flying WWII airplanes. My current project is restoring one of the Aichi VAL replicas that was in the movie "Tora,Tora,Tora: Hope to have it up and flying within a year. I also associate produced a documentary last year. "Walk on The River a Black History of The Alamo City" is available on DVD. The sequel to it is in post production and set for release next year, 2020. Looks like Mr. Haggin's filmmaking class paid off after all.
