Donato's Story
Life
First and foremost I was born an American and Proudly served in the US Navy Submarine Force for 20 Years, Second I am a Biker by Choice and as I did with my Submarine Brothers I will stand with my Brothers to protect that which is mine and ours: FAMILY and COUNTRY!!! and Third I'm a Patriot Forever.
I have changed from what a lot of my friends and classmates may remember. I know that some of you will remember a very different person and personality. I have been through a lot of things in my life since graduation. I do not regret any of the things that have shaped my life. I am proud to have done a job that allows all of you to have the freedoms you do, even with the changes in our country and the liberties that some say we are loosing.
I am married to a wonderful woman, Samantha. We have 4 great kids between us (2 mine 2 hers) 2 girls 2 boys. I have finished my 20 years in the US Navy Submarine Force and have retired. I was hired on at Boeing Commercial Aerospace Division one month after I retired from the Navy and landed a position as a Quality Inspector on the 737 line. It is a great job and thanks to the 15 plus years of working in Quality Assurance as part of my job in the Navy it helped to get me the job.
After graduation I went to Phoenix and got my degree in Electronics but the industry was at it's lowest for hiring and I bounced between different jobs until I decided the Navy Submarine Force would be the best for me and the family I was starting. I have really enjoyed the jobs I have done while serving in the Navy, and my present wife Samantha knows how to handle what needs to be done w...Expand for more
hen my job required me to be away. I have found my soul mate.
School
I had a great life in school and made some of the best friends I can remember. I thank God for the following people for being part of my life; Antonio Munoz, John Mallo, Teri Monroe, Kevin House, James Brewington, Frank Melendrez; John Kruezich and so many more. I miss all of you and enjoyed the times we had together. It is so wonderful when we talk.
Military
I joined the Navy in December 1987 and from the day I signed my contract I wanted to be in the Submarine Force. I have completed my 20 years and officially retired as a First Class Petty Officer Submarines on the 1st of January 2008, it was a wonderful career choice that I'm glad I made and I look forward to the next part of life. I have served on 4 submarines, USS Michigan SSBN 727(B), USS Dolphin AGSS 555, USS Tucson SSN 770, and USS Greeneville SSN 772 (I wasn't on board for the Japanese fishing boat accident thankfully). I have also served on the USS McKee AS 41 Submarine Tender and twice served at the IMF repair facility at Subase Bangor Washington (Formally known as Trident Refit Facility). I have really enjoyed my duty in the Submarine Force and have made some wonderful shipmates, friends and memories. I am very thankful for all the guidance that was given to me to make me a better sailor and Petty Officer. I wish to give my biggest thanks to MMCM(SS) (Ret) Cliff Lightfoot for all he taught me early in my career as well as MMCS(SS) (Ret) James Kahonke and MMC(SS) (Ret) Jerry James(My Sea Dad). These three individuals had a major impact in my Navy Career. Brothers Forever!
