Life After high school I spent the years turning into the gypsy I thought I was. Undoing the self inflicted damage took a move to Florida ('73), back to Michigan, on to Texas('78), a return to Michigan('84) and finally roots established here in Illinois. Along the way, I've married (yes, more than I should have) had a son, Michael, 25, and now have the joy of a grandson, Jacob. I married for good in June of 1991, after meeting my husband, Dennis, on the job in Detroit. He was an outside consultant for the transportation company I was employed by. At that point in my life after having been a single parent for over 11 years, I had no intention of ever marrying again. After a long distance romance, he surprised me by asking me to marry him after my winning a long shot (60 to 1 odds) at the track here in Illinois. Convinced me when he said, "sometimes you just have to grab that brass ring and hold on." I agreed, and once more moved, married and finally am home. Along the way I completed my education at night, was a soccer coach for my son's first team, ("Mom, they're CHARGING at me!") and baseball jockey until his sophomore year in high school. I now am self employed, consulting for the transportation company I was employed by in Detroit and teach their software, GM's inventory management systems. My son and his family live in the upper peninsula of Michigan, Mike is working for the DNR while finishing college at Northern Michigan.
