Donna's Story
I was an Air Traffic Controller in the 1922 SQ and discharged in 1978 to work for the FAA. I did well on the formal testing..no problem there. However, I couldn't pass the flying physcial anymore because of my asthma. If you were on our ATC crews then maybe you remember the problems I was having then. I still think it had more to do with moving from Lake Tahoe to the AZ desert more than anything else.
So, I started school and took college courses. I tended bar and ran cocktails for a while. Finally, I found some direction and went to real estate school, got licenced, and sold real estate while continuing my education, a little at a time.

oved to Onalaska, TX (my parents retired and moved here from AZ). When my dad died my mom would not move back to AZ....so here I am!! That was probably the best move I ever made for myself.
I finished my BA in Education at Sam Houston State University in 1990 and have been teaching ever since. I taught 4th grade at the same school for 11 years and then in 2001 I began teaching adult education. Now I can retire, though I can't believe it, because I still feel to young to do so. Maybe next year. That's what I keep telling myself anyway!!
