Donna's Story
I see so many people I remember. And so darn many I know I should remember!! I left California for Texas in 1970. I became a police officer (not my cup of tea) Then joined the AirForce. I went to work as electronic tech for Xerox for 7 years. By then my two daughters (one is an RN and the other and exc with an oil co out of Germany) were well and on their own. So I got a job traveling. Since 1985, I have been in all of the 48 lower states, most of Canada and some of Mexico. My job has taken me back to San Diego a few times. But I do not get to stay more than a day or 2. I would ask for trips that way if I knew there was someone to visit with. When I left California, I took my whole family. eturn. I have horses, ponies, dogs, cats and fish. (I was always the horse crazy one)So I really have a wonderful life. I can travel, spend a little money. Take care of the ones I love and just enjoy every minute of life. God has been generous to me and I am blessed.
Well, to add a postscript to above (3-31-2009)
There were over 4000 families in the community I live in before IKE. After, only 300!! We are rebuilding and people are coming home. I lost my house and a lot of "stuff" But only one person I know was killed and none of my family was hurt. It is slow and not always pretty. But life IS going on. You can google "San Leon, Tx" and get some very dramatic pictures of what was left. The EYE actually went over my house!
