Donna's Story
--I was divorced around 1992.
--Came to live with my parents in Desert Hot Springs, across the freeway from Palm Springs.
--Had to find a job. Since I hadn't worked during my 20-year marriage, that wasn't easy. I learned how to groom dogs and worked as a groomer at Petsmart for a while. Then I went to school to learn medical transcription.
--I now work at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage as a radiology transcriptionist. I have been working there for the past 8 or 9 years. I like it ve...Expand for more

--In 2003 I was diagnosed with stage IV ovarian cancer. I had surgery and chemotherapy and went into a 5-year remission. In 2008, it came back in my liver and I went through another round of chemotherapy. It did not go away after that so I just recently had surgery to remove the tumor. It looks like its gone for now and I am really doing very well considering everything.
--I also became a grandmother, I have four grandchildren, three boys and one girl. They are the light of my life.
