Military allmost all my life..
Enlisted Jan '76.
Boot camp Orlando FL Apr-Jun '76.
Yeoman School NAS Meridian, MS July-Aug '76.
Rate change at this point from paper pusher to Jet Engine mechanic.

Navy really wasn't ready for me yet, They couldn't handle a REAL female that could actually perform the work in her rate. Translation: I was not going to be the token BIMBO they wanted me to be! Also, you have to remember, the late '70's were very interesting for women. We were really starting to break into more and more fields that had been dominated by men. Proud to say I was one of the first female "AD's" in the Navy. (The rates of ADR (Reciprocating Engines)& ADJ (Jet Engines) merged in '76 to become just AD (Aviation Mechanic.

ght into the computer generation. Realized I was a little past my prime for it and went into lock smithing instead. Finally settled on the MS Gulf Coast (kept going back time and time again so I decided to just make it permanent), married one last time and put down roots. Member of the Order Of Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, Red Hat and a retired locksmith, previously self employed. Having fun in retirement while I watch gravity and time overpower my body. It is hell getting older but it is better than the alternative... I love the internet, on Facebook just look for Donna Morgan Hall...
Just came back from the 40th year reunion of the class of '74...great time but very disappointed with the low turn out of classmates...I know our high school years were very hard for some and maybe things never got any better but for some of us it means so much to connect and enjoy long ago friendships...every reunion our list of lost grows and it makes each year more precious...don't miss the next one in 2019 (we are having them every 5 years now).
