Catherine's Story
I married Steve Floreth one year after we graduated. We were divorced in 1972, and he died in 1990, I worked, had 3 children, got my associcates degree in Accounting in 1986. I met Elijah Stuart in 1990, and were married in November of that year. We moved to New Mexico for about 1 1/2 years, then Elijah got a job in Detroit, so we moved in Michigan. I got a job with an auto supplier, as did Elijah. I was laid off after 14 years in December, 2006. I moved back here to take care of my mom and work. turing, got laid off. It was then that I decided that something was better out there. I applied for and got social security, and I work for cash for a small company in Longmont. It's only 1-2 days a week, so I have lots of extra time. I have opened my own company called "CC'S Ceramics & Crafts. I run it out of my home and already have several customers. I'm blessed to have a helpful husband, however, he has a job with Mercedes in Alabama, so we have a long-distance relationship. But that's ok, We've been through alot in the last few years with layoffs, losing our home in Michigan due to the poor economy, and having to live with Mom.
