Donna's Story

I ended up way down here in Arizona. I've lived here for most of my life since i left Alberta in 1968. I live in a rural community in the White mountains in Az ( yes there are mountains in Az) Snow too. Been extremely happy and have the most wonderful, hunky husband in the world. Oh, and I have 5 children. 4 girls and 1 boy. I have not had your conventional life. If you would like to know more I would be more than happy to tell it just as soon as I know if someone has even read this. Well, here goes anyway. I live on a mini farm. We have 2.5 acres here and 3 acres about a mile away. My husband says my biggest downfall is that I name all the animals that are not necessarily pets and then he can't make dinner out of them. Pretty clever huh? We have 18 chickens, a duck, 2 pigs, a horse, a cow and 2 dogs. We also have fish but that doesn't count. We did have 3 turkeys but a coyote got them one night when we had taken L.C.(the dog) up on the mountain with us. Went right through the cage to get them. Strange order I am putting this in. Oh well. It's probably for my amusement only so I can write it however I choose, Right? My children are all grown. My oldest, Denise is already a grandmother. So we know what that makes me. Mind you, i had her when I was still a child. Thought I knew everything then. Boy was I ever mistaken. She lives in Flagstaff. She has 2 boys, Kristopher and Devan, a granddaughter, Audrey, and a grandson on the way. They are going to name him, Gunner. Robin, my next girl, lives in Missouri and has 2 children a boy,Ryan and a girl, Rosey Carey, the middle child, is exactly that. Beautiful and wild. She lives in Phoenix at present. Don't know if she will ever grow up.( but then look at her mother, right?) She has 1 son, Keanu, who lives with his father. Donella is next and my child who was born going on 21. She has always been responsible and mature.( pretty scary sometimes) She has 4 children- 3 girls and one boy. Shae the boy is the oldest, Then Sadie, Cherika, and Lydia. She lives in Eagar, Arizona. That is where her Father lives.( am not married to him anymore) Cory, my son is last. He is in College and living in Mesa. Not married or in a steady relationship. He is a really tall, tender hearted teddy bear. And did I mention Handsome. Well enough for now, my critters want their breakfast. Well it is some weeks later or months, don't know when it was I wrote this. Christmas was great. Had all my kids home except Robin and her family. Denise's son, Devan and grand daughter weren't here either. or Carey's son. Otherwise that is the most that h...Expand for more
ave been assembled in the same place in a loooong time. Had a wonderful get together. We had snow to make it a real Christmas too. But it was really cold also. Yeah, I know all you Canadians are laughing right about now. Hey, to me 8 is darn cold. Boy, time flies. I might just use this as my journal. I seem to write in it alot more than my journal. My sister, Bette, has kept a journal her whole life. I envy her the dedication. If I want to find out when something happened all I have to do is ask her and she pulls out one of her hundreds of notebooks that she writes in. She is a truly remarkable woman. I wonder if I said something really obnoxious if I would find out if anyone is actually reading this or not. Well, here goes. Don't know if this is obnoxious or not, it is just the truth. I got pregnant in High school and married someone that I didn't even really like let alone love. So needless to say it did not work. I had 2 girls from that marraige and then escaped into the USA.( oh, by the way he died from Hodgkins Disease) I love it down here in Az It is my home. First I went to San Diego to see a sailor that I had met in Victoria where I was living. He went to Japan and sent me to Mesa, AZ to meet his family. I stayed there.Mostly because I ran out of money and had to get a job. I never went back to Alberta to live again. Anyway I went to live with some other nurses and met this one girls brother and ended up marrying him and we moved to the White Mountains in Az. I had 3 more children a boy and 2 girls. We were married for what seems like forever. Then one day the most wonderful man rescued me and carried me off into the sunset. He was the best friend of my youngest daughter's husband. Yeah, the plot thickens. My husband is alot younger than I am. We have been together for 18 years and married for 12. We live 20 miles from the closest town and at first I thought I would die. I am a city girl. But now I love it. If you don't want to see any one you don't have to. Well got to go. Stuff to do. When I began typing this time, right below the message box these words popped up. "15,303 characters remaining." What I want to know is how they could possibly know that there really are that many "characters" in my life. Summer has come and gone. I got to go on vacation and party but my poor husband had to stay home and keep earning all that money for me to spend. I went to Medicine Hat to see my family and then to Ponoka (of all places) for a family reunion. Darn, should have started this sooner, I have to go feed my horse he is raising a ruckus out there. Later!
