Donna's Story
Life then and now...
Graduated from WPC in Dec. 92. Worked as a substitute teacher and receptionist at a doctor's office until I got my first teaching job. 5th grade! Thought I'd hate it but I loved it! I moved to 6th grade after 2 years to my dismay. (non-tenure, last man in, no real choice) After that, an opening came up in 1st grade in the same district so I jumped on that and got the move. And in first grade I stayed forever! I bought a townhome and moved out of my parent's house where I lived for 3 years until....
I got married to my college sweetheart (and 1st RA!) Rob Glomb in 2000. Then life really took on changes. I changed jobs mid-year to take a 1st grade position in the school district he was working. beach in July 2001. So to say the least, we had a very busy first year of marriage, with the job changes and moves.
We both remained teaching and driving together which was GREAT! We are two married people who actually LOVE spending time together. I really like him :) But in 2004 I finished my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership (aka Administration) from Monmouth University, taught for one more year, and then got a Vice Principal job in October of 2006! It was exciting and stressful and the biggest part that took adjusting to was missing the time Rob and I spent together. WOW! It was a big lonely change for us, but I was so busy, busy, busy with work. We adjusted and that's where we are now.
Our family...
Everyone tells us what a difference we've made in the lives of so many children, yet we have none of our own. Guess it is not too late yet! For now, we have a wonderful happy family of animals- 4 adorable chihuahuas, kitty cats, and a ferret.
