Life
Hi.My name is Donna Steyer, and I'm New to Classmates.com, so this is a whole New experience for Me. I don't know where to start, so I'll give a little Basic Info about Me. I'm a Native of Baltimore, Maryland, but I've made several Moves in My Lifetime, so far. My Name before Marriage, was Donna Nelson. I'm currently residing in Wisconsin, and have been here ten years. I have three Dogs, and four Cats. Needless to say, I'm an Animal Fancier. My Hobbies are Gardening, Cooking, Needlepoint, and Going to Yard Sales, Flea Markets, and Antique Shops. I collect Pigs, and have recently started a collection of Lighthouses, and Nautical/Seashore Themed Items. I also enjoy making Collages. My Taste in Music varies. I listen mostly to Country Music, but I like All kinds. I do enjoy The Oldies of the 50's, 60's 70's and 80's, and I'm a Fan of Bruce Springsteen, and Fleetwood Mac. I enjoy watching the Old, Classic TV Shows. I've Never stopped Loving Lucy! As to Movies, I enjoy the Old Classics, and Comedies. I'm an avid Baseball Fan, and enjoy watching the NASCAR Races on TV. That's about all I can think of right now, for Basics. I'll be updating My Bios Often, I'm sure. It's Nice to be a Classmates Member. I've been rather busy for a while, but I'm finally getting around to updating My Bio. I've been working Part Time for Home Instead Senior Care as a Caregiver. It's very rewarding work, and I just Love it. I have 7 Permanent Clients who I visit each Week. I'm working six Days a week, and I do Fill In Shifts for other Caregivers if they are out sick or on vacation. Some Weeks, it's not unusual for Me to work seven Days. I've reconnected with a Cousin whom I haven't seen since We were 10 Years Old. He's now living in Tennessee. I'm a typical Homebody. Time spent with Family Members is very important to Me, although My Closest Family Member is My Dad, and I'm very Close to My Aunt and 6 Cousins Here in Wisconsin. joys. Even if We're only watching a Packer's Game together. The Summer sure has flown by fast! Next Week brings the First Day of Fall. My Dogs love to run through the freshly fallen leaves, after I've raked them up into neat piles. My Dad recently celebrated his 83rd Birthday, and has just returned from a Week in Arizona visiting his Friend. While he was away, I took a much needed six Day vacation. Between My Dad, My Job, and the Animals, sometimes there just aren't enough hours in a Day. I do quite a bit of driving, visitng My Clients each Day, so it's always nice to finally come Home and park the car in My Garage. The Baseball Season is winding down, so, being an avid Fan, I'm really going to miss those Games on TV. Can't wait for Spring Training to start! One of My Hobbies is Gardening, and I really enjoy landscaping My Yard. Two Years ago, I put a Small Pond in My Front Yard. It runs under a Redwood Bridge, and I landscape around it Every Spring and Summer. I've just shut the Pond down for the Winter, but I'm already thinking up New Ideas for Next Spring. I'm always up to Something! I may even expand on My Pond, and make it a little larger. The Holidays are approaching fast, and those are always a busy time for Me. I Love to Cook, and have Family Members over for Dinner or a Special Occasion. Right now, I'm trying to get My Fall Housecleaning done, and will soon start going through the Holiday Decorations. I always seem to be adding something new at Christmastime. Living in Wisconsin, there always seems to be a White Christmas every Year. The snow really highlights the Outside Decorations, and gives the feeling of an Old Fashioned Christmas. The Days between Thanksgiving and Christmas are the Busiest for Me, and also, the Happiest! I'm just starting My Third year with Home Instead. After the Holidays, I'm hoping to cut back on My Hours somewhat. With Working and caring for an Elderly Parent, some Days it gets to be too much. I need to slow down a little.
