Donna's Story
I have been a called a "basket case" (I was selling baskets off a truck once...), I've tended bar (who hasn't), I have studied to be and worked as a chef for a couple of years. Most of my life, however, I have worked in and around artrooms and graphic departments using computers. I moved from Baltimore in 1980 to west coast Florida, then to Tennessee in '98 where I went to culinary school, and back to Florida for good (I hope)in 2002. (Most people who move to Florida do so to retire... IF I ever retire I'll probably move to an island)
I was married a LONG time ago for, oh, at least a couple of years. No kids. Lots 'o cats! My own little beachhouse with a tropical garden, a few great friends, 2 jobs, and alot of books...oh! and a new love keep me going. How about the rest of you?
Anyway, I floated through high school (quite literally) in love and on a cloud of smoke... and I started working too much waaaaay too ea...Expand for more
rly in life (it's set a bad precedent)! I really don't remember alot about high school except it was so long ago. My yearbook, which has moved with me umpteen times, is unadorned/unsigned . I'm one of the small percentage of people who doesn't live 50 miles from where I grew up. I still listen to music from the 70's and yeah, some from the 80's but I realized today it's become the new elevator and "easy listening" stuff... Can you believe that? In the last few years I have had a complete change of attitude about alot of things, country music and Nascar being the top 2. Other sports have found their way into my purview as well. Yikes, I once swore I would open a bar that was a "non"sports bar with only 70's music playing, just so I didn't have to watch sports all weekend long and could have a cocktail in peace. Well, that's about it. For 35 years that's a pretty sad summation.
