Donna's Story

You may not remember me... I was the quiet girl who was always the last to be picked for the team in gym class? Anyone remember Mrs. June Thorn from chorus? Music was my thing back then. I loved everything music in those days. My favorite teacher was John Lafalce. I thought he was the best and really gave me lots of encouragement with music. I was one who was bound for nursing school. Remember? Future Nurses club? My mother told me nursing was a good choice because I could get married, raise my family then go back to work part time. h PTSD and substance abuse. After living in Poughquag NY as a kid then moving to rural PA for the next 38 years, living in the city is quite disorienting for me. I guess you can take the girl out of the country, etc.... Now, my 4 children are grown and scattered to the 4 winds, PA, TX, Canada and Japan. And, best ever, I am a grandmother! Didn't I just graduate a few months ago? Yes. I was one of those "super straight" gals. Serious. No nonsense type. I'd like to think I've changed a bit. I am a people person, love the outdoors, adventures, long skirts, the "Bohemian" look. I am quite outgoing (who would have thought?), playful, curious and interested.
